  11. I need info on using a modem in Europe ( specifically Italy and
  12. Germany )

  14. What kind of throughput can I expect from a modem connection
  15. between a foreign telco and here ( New York )?  What kinds
  16. of problems will I face?  I want to set up a system that a 
  17. non-techie can use from a pay phone, hotel phone, or residential
  18. phone in Europe.  I'm developing an application, and I need to
  19. know how many bps I can expect.
